    General Laborer:

    The City of Ashburn is seeking applicants for the position of General Laborer. Requirements include:

    • Must be a legal U.S. Citizen;

    • High school diploma or equivalency required;

    • Valid Georgia Driver’s License;

    • Clean motor vehicle record;

    • Must successfully pass a medical examination and drug;

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

    Police Officer:

    The Ashburn Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer. Requirements include:

    • Must be at least 21 years of age;
    • Must be a legal U.S. Citizen;
    • High school diploma or equivalency required;
    • Valid Georgia Driver’s License;
    • Clean motor vehicle record;
    • No prior convictions by any State or by the Federal Government of any crime the punishment for which could have been imprisonment in a Federal or State Prison institution; nor have been convicted of sufficient misdemeanors as to establish a pattern of abuse of the law;
    • Must successfully pass a medical examination and drug screen;
    • Must successfully pass a psychological screening;
    • Must successfully pass a pre-employment polygraph exam;
    • Must successfully pass a pre-employment oral interview panel;
    • A thorough background check including criminal and driver histories, references, and work history will be conducted.

    This position is for a line police officer, reporting to the shift commander and includes general law enforcement and patrol duties. The police officer is assigned to a shift and is responsible for patrolling the City of Ashburn for the purpose of detecting and preventing crime, responding to citizen’s calls for service, and enforcing the laws of the State of Georgia and the local ordinances of the City of Ashburn. Officers are required to maintain a minimum of 20 hours of in-service training per year and maintain a required level of proficiency in firearms. Benefits include take home cars (with in mileage range), 12 hour shifts, medical insurance, and life insurance for employees.
