Ashburn Natural Gas

Ronnie Rainey, Buster Felton, Eddie Bryan, and Leon Keagle are the people that maintain the natural gas system, and read all the gas and water meters on a monthly basis. Last year, 3,700 feet of gas lines, 21 gas meters, and 17 regulators, were replaced. In addition, leaks were repaired, leak surveys performed, and cathodic protection surveys were completed. The duties of the meter readers are the actual annual reading of 32,000 meters, and the monthly re-reads, cut-offs and cut-ons. The goal of the Natural Gas Department is to provide economical, clean, dependable and safe heating and cooking fuel to the city's customers.
